They are bonkers those Finns! A bit crazy are the men of Apocalyptica without question. At least, concerning their music. But what about their sex life? During the interview travel of the trio we caught Perttu Kivilaasko and wormed some details out of him.

MH: Can you remember your first time?

PK: Yes, even though it is a while ago. I was twelve back then, and regrettably it wasn’t as cool as it now sounds. Nowadays I wouldn’t want to have my first time that early. You can’t imagine at that age what it really means to have sex, to take care of birth control or be responsible. This topic is too important and sensible to be able to deal with at that age.

MH: What do you specially like when having sex?

PK: First of all I really like to have a partner. I mean it is nice doing it to oneself but together with someone it is so much better. And having the lucky cause of having a partner then it just has to be right. The chemistry has to be right. With that I mean to be able to just let go without loosing respect for each other. Sex should be wild but never without respect. Sex itself is namely, when respect is missing, pretty disillusioning. Even when just having a one-night-stand, and it is clear before that one will never see each other again, one has to like each other and find each other nice. Fucking just for the fuck is pretty frustrating.

MH: Is that the point you would name if you were asked what you dislike when having sex?

PK: Yes. The mechanical aspect when having sex is pretty boring when there is nothing interpersonal happening. I would actually call it "empty sex". You are done but you don’t feel satisfaction but emptiness in your body. Maybe you are frustrated that that was all. You don’t have anything of it and it leaves a bitter aftertaste. Instead of having such a fuck I prefer to do it myself. I get more out of it and I’m not frustrated afterwards.

MH: What’s your opinion about having sex with more than one woman at the same time?

PK: It is nice. I already had a lot of fun with two or more women at once. But that doesn’t belong to my daily dreams. It just happens sometimes and then I am very well in state to enjoy it. But it is nothing I would want or need to have all the time. And it is important of course that everyone gets what he wants and wishes for. You have to take care that no one is left behind with so many people.

MH: Can you imagine having sex with another man?

PK: I can’t imagine having direct sex with a man. I am 100% into women, I can’t change that. But I think that I wouldn’t have a problem with it when there is another man with me and one or more women. I have never tried it but I could imagine that I would be fine with that.

MK: What kinds of lingerie do you like do you find sexy with women?

PK: None! None is always the best, especially when she is wearing a dress and nothing underneath. A nice imagination. Jeans with no underwear also turn me on. But of course it is nice to have something to undress. And especially when experiencing a more romantic evening with a woman, beautiful, feminine lingerie with lace can be nice. Corsages I like as well…

MH: A romantic?

PK: Of course. I definitely have a romantic side in me. And it lets me suffer a lot when not having a girlfriend. You can’t satisfy those wishes and feelings with one-nigh-stands. Right at the moment I feel like this again. There is that big wish in my life to find the right woman with whom I could have a family. I have the feeling to stand at the crossroads of my life and to give up my wild party side.

MH: What kinds of underwear to you wear yourself?

PK: It has to be comfortable and look good. No other needs.

MH: What do you think about porn?

PK: It’s not like I resist watching them. But somehow they are a phase in life that becomes less when getting older. In the past I found those films a lot more interesting than now. There are two sorts of porn anyway. There are ones that are aesthetically well done and have enough storyline to stimulate the audience. The others are just stupid sex, reducing sex to what I find horrible. To that empty, shallow mechanical. Such thing I also find dangerous. When younger people with little experience see such thing they will get a totally wrong picture about sex. They think that the whole thing is reduced to dull movements. And that is surely not true. Sex is a whole lot more!

MH: What do you think about prostitution?

PK: I think that a lot of women have to suffer a lot because of that job. A lot of them are forced to do it and they don’t even get a lot of money because their pimp gets it all. But on the other hand it is the oldest profession in the world which it wouldn’t be if it wouldn’t have its authorisation and demand. Maybe there are women who like doing such thing. There are enough men, who don’t have another way than that to sleep with a woman. And for them it is important. What I find bad is that it is very easy for men to cheat on their women that way and that I find unacceptable.

MH: So you stay faithful in a relationship?

PK: That is the most important thing to me. If I have a partner sharing my life and being the closest person to me, than she deserves best treatment ever. And cheating is definitely not a part of that. I would feel totally shabby doing that. There sure are tolerant relationships where that is possible but than it should be for both sides. And both sides should be happy with it. Otherwise cheating on someone hurts incredibly deep. And I think that should not be done to anyone.

MH: What don’t you like about a woman?

PK: When you always have to wait for her because she needs ages for her make-up. But otherwise this is forgivable. I like women way too much to not be able to stand anything about them.
